Last month I photographed an immature banded Osprey on Virginia Key and yesterday the Bird Banding Lab replied with its information. This bird was banded July 6, 2016 while still in the nest ---- near Billings, Montana! Whether this bird "just" wintered in South Florida or it was returning from South America, migration is amazing.

That's so cool! I remember there was the tagged bird that spent the winter around Doral but unfortunately was hit by a car. Hopefully this one makes it back to Montana.
Wonder if the bird was one from the Cornell webcam in Missoula?

I wonder if we saw that bird on the TAS Great Parks trip last summer, which started and ended in Billings. Maybe it followed us home!
It's probably not from the Missoula nest, since the two locations are ~350 miles apart. The Missoula webcam is very nice but I don't believe the Billings area has a nestcam. I like Bill's idea!
