Yesterday evening Mitchell Harris photographed a Bahama Woodstar in the park and it continued as of this morning. I arrived with Eddy and Madison at about 8:30am and the bird appeared briefly around 9:10am. It was feeding on the Cape Honey Suckle that was just underneath the large Strangler Fig Mitchell had it in yesterday. Several people had it much earlier and were able to get great photographs.

Thanks Brian!
My guys finished fixing the dome on Saturday. The woodstar in Brevard is proof.
The Bahama Woodstar continues today May 16, 2017 @ Maritime Hammock Sanctuary.
Seen twice today by a group of us from about 5-6pm Tue. 5/16/17.
This is exciting news because I found a pair (male/female) of Bahama woodstars in Homestead (Miami-Dade County) back in 1981 and it made front page news in the Miami Herald. To my knowledge, this is the first confirmed sighting since then. I believe the very first sighting in the U.S. was in Brevard County.
